Synopsis of the programme:
During the PSG Chairwoman’s address, Mrs Anita Jain discussed the few salient points about the usefulness of parental involvement in school activities forvtheir own benefits. How they can use their talents to help other needy children through the programmes like reading mom and bridging math programmes. She even shared her groups’ interest in assuming the roles of being ambassadors for PSG group activities for other parents.

Vice-Chairwoman, Mrs Annie also unanimously agreed with the message of the Chairwoman.

Mr.A.S.Muthu, HOD of Staff Development & SFE in-charge shared some salient points from the Minister for Education ,Mr Heng Swee Keat’s speech on Quality Partnerships with Stakeholders.

Mrs Audrey Go presented the SFE plans for the year 2012. She explained the work of SFE and MCYS for parents, staff & students. There was also a presentation on 2011 SFE programmes.

Mdm. Rahima Abdul Rahman, the Vice Principal also stressed the importance of parental involvement in children’s overall development.

After the short discussion about PSG programmes for 2012 , Mrs Audrey Go presented a small video clip toucing on the relationship of a father and handicapped son to stress the importance of family bonding.

Feedback by the participants:
Everybody agreed that the family is a useful platform to learn Positive Parenting. Children are precious. How their parents and other adults treat them will shape how they see themselves and the world.

During the PSG Chairwoman’s address, Mrs.Anita Jain discussed some salient points about the usefulness of parental involvement in school activities for their own benefit. Logistic problems involving text book purchases were also discussed.

Mr.A.S.Muthu, HOD of Staff Development & SFE in-charge shared the 6 major characteristics pertaining to the Epstein’s Family-School –Community Partnership Model with the parents present during the meeting.
